A security solution for irregular cases

Kaspersky Scan Engine can be integrated with third-party software or hardware solutions.

Products that don’t fit a standard mold sometimes need tailored protective solutions. For example, take a company that has a Web portal to which customers or employees can upload documents. That portal needs a mechanism to check files for cyberthreats. And it is impossible to equip such portal with a traditional antivirus.

The latter case is fairly common. Insurance companies often require documents about insured events from their clients, for example, and banks still work with tons of various documents. Companies that accept claims typically let clients upload files directly on their website — and you never can be sure that the people who upload those documents have any kind of protective technologies. Cybercriminals may even use the mechanism to deliver malware.

As a rule, to solve such problems, a dedicated software development kit (SDK) is needed. SDKs are effective and widely used, but their implementation has always been a laborious process requiring the participation of a dedicated development team. That made the development process significantly more expensive. To facilitate the integration of our technologies into third-party products, we developed a fundamentally new proposal: Kaspersky Scan Engine.

You can integrate the Kaspersky Scan Engine into embedded systems, Internet of Things devices, network attached storage, file and mail servers, Web gateways, proxy servers, corporate networks, or data centers. It is also compatible with cloud solutions — it can be integrated at the platform level, for example, to analyze passing traffic and user files. What differentiates it from analogues is that it is our first solution that you can buy and integrate into another software or hardware solution without undue effort.

As a result, Kaspersky Scan Engine is able to provide comprehensive protection for all kinds of devices and software solutions from malware, Trojans, network worms, rootkits, spyware, and adware, as well as filtering malicious, phishing, and advertising URLs.

You can learn more and contact our colleagues from the technology alliance group on the Kaspersky Scan Engine webpage.
