First Chromium-Based Microsoft Edge Build Will Be Exclusive to Windows 10 64-Bit

An official support document for the upcoming Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser got leaked this week, providing us with an early look at some of the specs of the first preview build.

By the looks of things, this early version of the browser would only run on Windows 10 64-bit.

Microsoft said in late 2018 when announcing the migration from EdgeHTML to Chromium that Microsoft Edge would eventually be offered to users on other operating systems too, including Windows 7 and macOS. However, it looks like the first preview build would only run on Windows 10, with Microsoft most likely planning to roll it out to everyone else at a later time.

Details as to when Microsoft could publish the first build of Microsoft Edge aren’t available right now, but given that leaks are currently surfacing at a much faster pace than before, there’s a good chance its release is just around the corner.
