Quote:Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7535 (KB5072046) to the Dev and Beta Channels. Both channels are currently receiving the same builds based on Windows 11 version 25H2, with a limited window still open for Dev Channel users to switch to Beta.
The update focuses on accessibility improvements, Copilot management for administrators, and a collection of fixes and small UI changes. As with other Insider builds, several features are rolling out gradually and require the "get the latest updates as they are available" toggle to be enabled.
Narrator gains Copilot-powered image descriptions
Narrator can now work with Copilot on all Windows 11 devices to generate detailed descriptions of images and visual elements. Users can trigger descriptions for a focused image or the entire screen, with Copilot opening alongside Narrator to provide context-aware explanations and allow follow-up questions.
On Copilot+ PCs, on-device AI descriptions continue to work instantly without sending data to the cloud. The Copilot-assisted experience expands this capability to non-Copilot+ systems. Image sharing only occurs when the user explicitly requests a description. The feature is not available in the European Economic Area.
Admins can uninstall Copilot on managed devices
Build 26220.7535 introduces a new Group Policy option called Remove Microsoft Copilot App. When enabled, it allows administrators to uninstall the Copilot app for specific users or devices under defined conditions, such as the app not being user-installed or recently launched.
The policy is available on Enterprise, Pro, and Education editions. Copilot can still be reinstalled manually by users after removal.
