Phishing Protection Put to the Test – 2025 Edition
Phishing continues to be a major cyber threat, with attackers using fake websites and deceptive messages to steal sensitive data like usernames, passwords, or credit card details. To combat this, most antivirus and internet security solutions include built-in anti-phishing features designed to block access to malicious sites.
AV-Comparatives, a trusted independent testing lab based in Austria, has released its 2025 Anti-Phishing Certification Report, assessing the ability of leading security products to detect and block phishing websites.
In this year’s test, the security products were challenged with over 200 phishing URLs. To earn certification, a product had to block at least 85% of phishing sites. A false-positive test was also conducted to ensure that legitimate websites—especially sensitive ones like online banking—were not mistakenly blocked.

- ESET HOME Security Essential
- Fortinet FortiClient
- F-Secure Internet Security
- Kaspersky Premium
- McAfee Total Protection
- NordVPN Threat Protection Pro
- Norton 360 Deluxe
- Trend Micro Internet Security
Additionally, the following products were certified on Android:- McAfee Mobile Security
- Wontok NetSafety Device
