AMD is reportedly preparing two products simultaneously. The higher-end series, codenamed “Medusa,” appears to be part of the Ryzen AI MAX series, which is currently occupied by the “Strix Halo” APU design. Additionally, something new was revealed by LG and AMD during a special event for the next-generation Gram laptop: AMD Gorgon Point.
This codename had not been mentioned before, but there is a good reason why. On paper, it appears to be a refresh of the existing Strix Point series with minor changes, such as clock speed increases, yield optimizations, and adjustments to NPU performance for some models. It looks like the flagship HX 470 (?) model will now offer 55 TOPS by default. However, it’s worth noting that the HX 375 already delivers this speed for the built-in XDNA2 NPU.
