The Lenovo Product Manager in China is confirming a change to Ryzen 200 series, a rebranded chips from the Hawk Point series.

At CES 2025, AMD made several announcements regarding its latest Zen5-based products. This included the Ryzen 340/350 SKUs, based on low-cost Krackan silicon, as well as rebranded chips known as the Ryzen 200 series featuring Hawk Point/Phoenix dies. Unlike the Ryzen AI 300 series, these products will lack “AI” branding, although some will technically include built-in NPU units.

Speaking on Weibo, a Lenovo Product Manager confirmed that the exclusivity period for the Ryzen 7 8745H processor has ended, allowing other companies to ship laptops featuring this CPU. It is worth mentioning that this SKU does not have the NPU enabled. Additionally, reports suggest a new SKU based on this specific chip is forthcoming, reportedly named the Ryzen 7 255H.
