Latest Microsoft Edge Dev Update Brings Lots of New Features

Microsoft Edge Dev build 78.0.262.0 thus features a series of refinements versus its predecessor, and this starts with a fix for the bug causing the browser to sometimes fail to load pages after launch.
 
“To try to prevent scenarios where the browser launches but no webpages will load, it will now attempt to de-elevate itself when it detects that it’s running with administrative privileges,” Microsoft explains in the updated changelog (you can find all the improvements specific to this new release in the box at the end of the article).

Additionally, because clearing browsing data removes files not only from the device you’re using at the time of initiating the cleaning but also from the other devices where you are signed in with the same account, Microsoft has updated the UI to inform users in this regard.

The Edge update also includes a management policy “to go to an intranet site for a single word typed into the address bar instead of initiating a search,” as the company itself explains.
