According to a blog post published by Google 1.5 billion people use Google Photos each month, and over 9 trillion photos and videos are stored on the cloud. Google says that users are performing over 370 million searches, and share 440 million memories, and edit 210 million photos using the cloud-based app.
When the Pixel 9 was launched last year, Google introduced some AI-powered features in the editor. These Magic Editor features are now being released for all users. It includes Reimagine and Auto frame. Users can access these options from the top left of the editor. Reimagine lets you generate objects and place them in your photo, all you need to do is describe what you want in a text box. Auto Frame can be used to reframe existing images, it can widen a photo using generative AI to fill in the blanks around a subject.
The update brings all editing options in one place, including AI enhance. Users can draw a circle or tap on a part of a photo, and Photos' AI will suggest ways to improve the image.
