As usual, the announcement comes via a post on the Nokia community forums, and it includes details on which markets and regions will get the update first. The initial wave of the release will include the following 38 markets:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Cambodia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Georgia, HongKong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam
Similar to what we've seen with other Nokia phones, Android 10 will roll out to the Nokia 3.1 Plus gradually. 10% of devices in the markets above will get the update today, and 50% will get it by Saturday, May 16. The initial wave of the rollout should be completed on May 18.
HMD Global is one of the few manufacturers that delivers updates somewhat consistently to its entire lineup, but even then, the rollout is taking its time. Google is planning to launch the Android 11 beta next month, with a stable release likely targeting August or September. There are still five Nokia phones waiting for the Android 10 update - the Nokia 5.1 Plus, 5.1, 3.1, 2.1, and 1 - according to HMD's roadmap shared in March.
