Microsoft has revealed a set of upcoming updates for Windows 11 built-in apps, with notable improvements coming to Notepad.

Another visible change is a new Welcome Experience. This popup appears when Notepad receives feature updates and highlights what has changed. Microsoft is also improving AI-powered text generation in Notepad. Generated text will now appear using a streaming effect, displaying responses as they are created instead of waiting for the full output to complete. The change is designed to make results feel faster, even when generation time stays the same.
