Overview
Hasleo Disk Clone is a professional Windows cloning software providing multiple disk alignment modes, sector-by-sector cloning of disks and partitions, flexible partition adjustment (location/size on the destination disk), and MBR/GPT disks conversion during cloning (MBR=>GPT or GPT=>MBR). Additionally, you can create a bootable WinPE emergency disk to migrate disks or partitions.

Delta Clone's most important technology is rapid and efficient detection of these changed blocks. The benefits that 'Delta Clone' offers are below:
- Reduce cloning time: Only changed data blocks need to be cloned, which significantly speeds up the process.
- Reduce I/O load: Compared to full cloning, our technology clones only changed data blocks, which significantly reduces the I/O load.
- Reduce power consumption: The significant reduction in I/O load directly lowers power consumption.
- Reduce impact on the source OS: The impact on the source OS will be reduced due to the reduction in I/O load and time required for cloning.
Hasleo's advanced delta detection algorithm can accurately identify the blocks that have been changed on the drive, saving you valuable time by only cloning the changed blocks. The Delta clone option can ensure that only changed data blocks from the source partition are cloned to the destination partition. This requires the destination partition to be an earlier full clone of the source partition.
How does the Delta Clone work and what are its limitations in Hasleo Disk Clone?
Please note that the Delta Clone feature in Hasleo Disk Clone is only for cloning NTFS partitions. Non-NTFS partitions will still be cloned using Full Clone. Before cloning a disk using the Delta Clone feature, Hasleo Disk Clone performs two important checks. First, it verifies that all partitions on the source disk have a corresponding copy on the destination drive and that their order is identical. Then, it uses a block change check algorithm to identify the changed data blocks in all source NTFS partitions compared to their destination NTFS partitions. Finally, copy all changed data blocks from all NTFS partitions and all data blocks from non-NTFS partitions to the destination drive.
Limitations related to cloning a disk using the Delta Clone feature:
- Limitation 1 - The Delta Clone feature in Hasleo Disk Clone currently only applies to cloning NTFS partitions. Non-NTFS partitions will still be cloned using Full Clone.
- Limitation 2 - The destination NTFS partition must be greater than or equal to the source NTFS partition, and the destination non-NTFS partition must be equal to the source partition.
- Limitation 3 - The source NTFS partition and the target NTFS partition must have the same cluster size.
- Limitation 4 - All partitions from the source disk must have corresponding copies on the destination drive, and the copies must remain in the same order as the source partitions.

The Master Boot Record (MBR) and GUID Partition Table (GPT) are two different disk partitioning schemes. The MBR is the traditional partitioning scheme, supporting disks up to 2TB in capacity and allowing a maximum of four primary partitions. It must be used with the Legacy BIOS boot mode. GPT, the modern standard replacing MBR, supports larger hard drives over 2TB and enables the creation of up to 128 or more partitions. It requires UEFI boot mode.
Why convert MBR to GPT?
GPT is a more advanced and powerful partitioning scheme, making it the preferred choice for modern computers and large-capacity hard drives. The following are common scenarios where converting MBR to GPT is necessary:
- Upgrading to a high-capacity hard drive, especially one larger than 2TB, allows you to fully utilize the entire capacity of the new drive after cloning it as a GPT disk
- Convert a Legacy BIOS system to UEFI for enhanced performance and Secure Boot functionality
- Create more than 4 primary partitions
- Enhance data security (GPT stores copies of the partition table at the beginning and end of the disk and uses CRC checksum verification. If the primary partition table is corrupted, it can be restored from these backup copies.)
The Convert MBR to GPT/Convert GPT to MBR' feature is particularly useful for those transitioning from older MBR setups to modern GPT standards. The software provides a seamless way to clone an MBR disk as a GPT disk or convert a GPT disk to an MBR disk, ensuring compatibility with modern hardware standards and boot modes. Converting MBR to GPT or GPT to MBR ensures no data loss after conversion and keeps Windows booting from the converted disk.
