Select the destination disk for restoration, then click "Proceed" to start the restore process.

    File restore offers two options:

The Replace existing files option overwrites any existing files(folders) with those restored from the file backup image.

The Restore NTFS permissions option restores the original NTFS permissions while restoring files(folders) from the file backup image.

  • System Clone

Easily migrate Windows to another disk or computer without reinstalling the OS, applications and drivers. System clone can easily migrate the Windows operating system from one disk to another, which is very useful for replacing the disk where Windows is currently running with a larger capacity disk or SSD, so that you do not need to reinstall Windows, drivers, and applications, and it can be used for Windows system backup purposes. Click "Clone" => "System Clone", then click "Next" button. Select the destination disk and adjust partition size and location. Click "Proceed" to begin cloning.

Hasleo Backup Suite provides two cloning ways:

Normal mode: Clone Windows operating system to the destination disk and all partitions on the destination disk will be destroyed. You just need to select the destination disk you want to clone the Windows operating system to, then click "Next".

Advanced mode: Clone Windows operating system to a contiguous space (it can be a combination of multiple existing partitions and free space) on the destination disk and keep other unselected partitions that exist on the destination disk. Please enable "Advanced mode" and select the contiguous space you want to clone the Windows operating system to on the destination disk, then click "Next".

    Notes:
The Clone as MBR or Clone as GPT option can clone Windows on MBR disk to GPT or clone Windows on GPT disk to MBR and ensure that the cloned Windows can work normally.

The Keep partition layout option can ensure that the partition layout of the destination disk is exactly the same as the source disk after the cloning operation is completed.

The Make Windows bootable option can ensure that the cloned Windows operating system can start normally.

  • Disk Clone

Disk clone completely copies the contents of one disk to another disk, including the partition structure and the files in the partitions. It is mainly used to upgrade or replace a disk, such as replacing a mechanical hard disk with an SSD or upgrading a small capacity disk to a large capacity disk. Of course, it can also be used for disk backup purposes. In addition, the Disk clone feature allows you to clone an MBR disk into a GPT disk or vice versa. Disk clone transfers all data from one disk to another in order to replace or upgrade a disk. Click "Clone" => "Disk Clone", then select the source and destination disks. Adjust partition size and location, then click "Proceed" to start cloning.

Hasleo Backup Suite provides two disk cloning ways:

Normal mode: Clone disk to the destination disk and all partitions on the destination disk will be destroyed. You just need to select the destination disk you want to clone to, then click "Next".

Advanced mode: Clone disk to a contiguous space (it can be a combination of multiple existing partitions and free space) on the destination disk and keep other unselected partitions that exist on the destination disk. Please enable "Advanced mode" and select the contiguous space you want to clone the disk to on the destination disk, then click "Next".

  • Partition Clone

Partition clone copies the specified partition to an existing partition or unallocated space on the current disk or other disks, it generates a partition with the same content as the source partition, so it can be used for partition backup purposes. As a backup, clone a partition completely to a target location on the current or another disk. Click "Clone" => "Partition Clone", and select the source partition and destination. Click "Proceed" to start cloning.

Hasleo Backup Suite provides two partition cloning ways:

Normal mode: Select an existing partition or an unallocated space as the destination partition, then click "Next".

Advanced mode: Clone partition to a contiguous space (it can be a combination of multiple existing partitions and free space) on the destination disk and keep other unselected partitions that exist on the destination disk. Please enable "Advanced mode" and select the contiguous space you want to clone the partition to on the destination disk, then click "Next".

  • Create Bootable WinPE Media

The bootable WinPE medium (WinPE restore environment) of Hasleo Backup Suite can help you quickly restore Windows to a healthy state when the Windows system crashes, and you can also use it to perform backup and cloning operations, so it is very necessary to create a bootable WinPE medium for Hasleo Backup Suite in advance. It is highly recommended to create a WinPE emergency disk to help you restore Windows when the OS crashes. You only need to click "Tools" => "Emergency Disk" to create it. Note: You may need to disable UEFI Secure Boot to boot from the bootable WinPE media created by Hasleo Backup Suite.

    Additional Notes:
    • Please note that only .inf based drivers are supported for injection into WinPE.

The Download WinPE components option allows you to download WinPE components instead of looking for WinPE components from the current computer.

      • The Automatic driver injection option will automatically extract drivers from the current Windows operating system and inject them into WinPE.

  • Add/Remove Boot Menu

You can add a boot entry in the Windows boot menu that points to your bootable WinPE device, so that you can boot directly into WinPE for backup, restore, and other operations. When you start the computer, you can select the boot entry to start WinPE to perform backup, restore, and clone operations. You can remove the boot entry when you no longer need it. To manage the entry, you only need to click "Tools" => "Add/Remove Boot Menu". Click "Tools" button in the navigation bar, then click "Remove Boot Menu" button in the operation area.

    Notes:
    • Please note that only .inf based drivers are supported for injection into WinPE.

The Download WinPE components option allows you to download WinPE components instead of looking for WinPE components from the current computer.

      • The Automatic driver injection option will automatically extract drivers from the current Windows operating system and inject them into WinPE.

  • PXE Server

Hasleo PXE Boot Tool is specifically designed for securely booting and maintaining multiple client computers within a local area network (LAN) over the network. It enables you to boot the Hasleo Backup Suite recovery environment on client machines via the network, which is particularly useful for bare-metal restore or network deployment. Hasleo PXE Boot Tool enables you to boot the Hasleo Backup Suite recovery environment on client machines via the network. Click "Tools" => "PXE Server" to run the PXE boot service program.

  • Merge Backup Image

As the number of backup versions grows, backup image files consume increasing storage space. Merging multiple versions into a single backup image is an effective solution. Hasleo Backup Suite supports differential backup, incremental backup and full backup on Windows Vista/Server 2008 or later operating systems. With the increase of backup versions, backup image files occupy more and more storage space, especially in the case of backing up a large amount of data, this problem will become more prominent. The backup image merge feature provided by Hasleo Backup Suite allows us to merge multiple consecutive backup image versions into one version to free up storage space, and it is suitable for System Backup, Disk/Partition Backup and File Backup.

Click "Tools" => "Merge Image", and select the task or browse for the target image file. Then select the backup versions and click "Proceed" to execute the merge operation. You can also configure the backup image retention policy in the Backup options to automatically perform the image merge operation after the backup operation is complete.

  • Delete Backup Image

When your backup drive is running out of space, delete unnecessary older backup images to free up storage. For data security, we usually perform backups of our data on a regular basis, and as the backup version increases, the backup image will occupy more and more storage space, which will lead to an increase in storage costs and I/O workload.

Hasleo Backup Suite supports differential, incremental and full backup modes, and the backup images of incremental backup and differential backup depend on the previous backup image version, if you accidentally delete the previous image version, the entire backup chain may be damaged, so you should always use the delete image feature provided by Hasleo Backup Suite to delete the backup image instead of manually deleting the backup image from the task folder. Click "Tools" => "Delete Image", and select the task or browse the target image file. Then select the backup versions and click "Proceed".

  • Check Backup Image

The backup images is a series of files containing all the backup data generated by the backup software when performing a backup operation, and it is the most critical element of whether the backup data can be successfully recovered. A corrupted backup image may cause the restore operation to fail, the check backup image feature can check the integrity of the backup image files and determine whether or not the image can be restored. The main manifestations of backup image corruption are as follows:

    • Some backup image files are lost or deleted.
    • The structure of some backup image files is damaged.
    • The data of some backup blocks has been modified.

The check backup image feature provided by Hasleo Backup Suite can help us effectively find out the problems mentioned above, and it is suitable for system backup, disk/partition backup, and file backup. The check backup image feature can verify the image integrity and determine whether the image can be restored. Click "Tools" => "Check Image", select the task or browse for the target image file, then execute the operation by clicking "Proceed". The check image options are below.

    • Perform a quick check: Check this option to perform a quick image check. The quick image check only checks whether all files of the backup task exist or whether the structure of some files has been damaged, it does not check the integrity of all the data blocks backed up, while the complete image check checks the integrity of all the data blocks backed up and therefore takes longer.

    • The Hide warnings option hides warnings from being displayed, if you want to show the warnings please uncheck it.

  • Mount/Unmount Backup Image

The backup image file is a type of file that is used to store backup data, and usually we have to perform a restore operation before we can access the files stored in the backup image. In order to make it easier for users to browse the files stored in the backup image file without having to perform a restore operation, some backup software provides the ability to mount the image file, and the mounted image will appear as a local drive in Windows Explorer, so that we can easily browse and retrieve the files we need. Click "Tools" => "Mount/Unmount Image", select the task or browse for the target image, then select the target volume and click "Proceed" to mount it.

Note: Mount as writable: Check this option to mount the image file in writable mode. Please note that the changes are temporary and will be discarded after the volume is unmounted.

  • Import/Export Backup Tasks

Exporting backup tasks to a secure location as a backup ensures their restorability when required, preventing loss of backup configurations. You may have noticed that all valid backup tasks of Hasleo Backup Suite will be listed on the home page of the program. In fact, all backup task configuration information is stored in TaskConfig.xml (we usually call it backup task file). We know that reinstalling the Windows system or other reasons may cause this file to be lost or damaged, so it is necessary to export this file to a safe place for backup purposes. This way we can restore tasks from the backup task file to Hasleo Backup Suite when needed. In case you forget to export the task file, you can still restore the backup task from the backup image, however the backup task information exported from the backup image may not be complete, for example, you can't restore the backup scheduling information. Click "Tools" => "Import/Export Tasks", specify the path as needed, and execute the operation by clicking "Import" or "Export".

  • Wipe Drive

The wipe drive feature can permanently erase all data on the selected drive, and the data cannot be recovered after being erased, so wiping the drive before you sell it or lend it to others can effectively prevent data leakage. Wipe Drive permanently erases all data on a drive. Click "Tools" => "Wipe Drive", then select the target disk or partition, then execute the wipe operation by clicking "Proceed". Note: If you want to wipe the entire disk, please choose "Disk mode" in the upper right corner. If you just want to wipe one of the partitions, please choose "Partition mode".

  • Repair VSS

The Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is a set of APIs provided by Microsoft for the Windows operating system that implements a framework to allow backup programs to perform volume backups at the same time that other applications are writing to the volume. The backup program creates a snapshot of the volume through the VSS API, which stores a copy of the volume's data at that point in time, and any subsequent writes to the volume by any application do not appear on the snapshot, so the backup program can read the snapshot's data to implement the hot backup feature.

Many Windows backup programs including Hasleo Backup Suite use VSS to perform hot backups, so when WMI does not work properly, these programs will not be able to perform backup operations properly, and repairing VSS is the most effective way to solve this kind of problem. The backup program cannot perform backup operations properly if the Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is failing. Repairing VSS can effectively solve this issue. Click "Tools" = > "Repair VSS" to resolve VSS errors.

  • Repair WMI

Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is the infrastructure for management data and operations on Windows-based operating systems. With WMI, developers can write code to obtain various management information about operating systems, software applications, hardware devices, and more. Like many third-party applications, many of the features of Hasleo Backup Suite call WMI to obtain information about the Windows operating system, hardware, and so on, so when WMI does not work properly, Hasleo Backup Suite will not work properly, and repairing WMI is the most effective way to solve this kind of problem. Click "Tools" = > "Repair WMI" to resolve WMI errors.

  • Rebuild MBR

The Master Boot Record (MBR) is very important for traditional BIOS computers; your computer won't be running when the MBR of the disk where the Windows operating system is located is corrupted. Fortunately, rebuilding the MBR can easily fix this problem. MBR corruption may prevent Windows from booting, and the Rebuild MBR feature can repair a damaged MBR. Click "Tools" => "Rebuild MBR", select the target disk, then click "Proceed" to start the repair.

  • Storage Path Management

The Storage Path Management feature of Hasleo Backup Suite allows you to manage paths (local paths or network shared paths) that can be used as backup sources and destinations, such as adding, editing, and deleting storage paths. Storage Path Management allows you to add or remove storage paths for backup sources and destinations. Click "Tools" => "Storage Path Management", then add or remove paths as needed.

  • Command Line Interface (CLI)

Hasleo Backup Suite provides a command line interface program that allows you to perform backup tasks through scripts (such as batch file, PowerShell, etc.) or cmd.exe in Windows. The current version of Hasleo Backup Suite only allows you to perform backup tasks through the command line interface program,
