The Ryzen 5 7400F is a 6-core, 12-thread CPU with a boost clock lower than its older sibling, the 7500F. The latter was released last year, but its availability depends on the seller. Officially, that SKU is not globally available; however, OEMs and system integrators, who are allowed to purchase these CPUs, often sell them regardless of AMD’s intentions. As a result, the 7500F can be found at stores like Newegg for around $163.

Naturally, whatever comes after this SKU and offers lower specifications should be cheaper. Therefore, the 7400F might be AMD’s $150 CPU. AMD has confirmed that this is a Raphael die and not a mobile APU rebranded for desktops, meaning its gaming performance should still surpass that of such solutions. Officially, AMD is yet to confirm pricing.
