AMD is set to launch two X3D CPUs, claims leaker

According to “chi11eddog”. 



So we finally have an update on the old rumor (if we can consider August old) about potential updates to the Ryzen 9000X3D family. As a reminder, the leaker previously claimed that AMD would launch two new SKUs with higher TDP and clocks. However, as quickly as those rumors appeared, others dismissed them as fake.

Chi11eddog disagrees and now provides more information, this time with proper SKU names and full specifications:

• Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 – 200W, 16C/32T, 192MB L3 cache, 5.6 GHz / 4.3 GHz Dual 3D-VCache
  
• Ryzen 7 9850X3D – 120W, 8C/16T, 96MB L3 cache, 5.6 GHz / 4.7 GHz
  

As claimed, there would be an even faster 16-core version called the 9950X3D2, the “2” likely refers to dual 3D-VCache config, since this model will feature 192MB of L3 cache. By not naming this SKU “9960X3D or something along the way, AMD simply avoids confusion with the Threadripper 9000 lineup. The SKU would have a 200W TDP and a 5.6 GHz boost clock, slightly lower than the 9950X3D, while keeping the same base clock.

The more interesting SKU might be the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. It would feature 8 cores and a 120W TDP, matching the configuration of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, currently considered the best gaming CPU on the market. However, its boost clock would be 400 MHz higher at 5.6 GHz.
