Technical details

Avest is a strain of ransomware that encrypts victim’s files and appends the extension “.ckey().email().pack14” to the filename.

The ransomware also creates a ransom note (“!!!Readme!!!Help!!!.txt”) that contains the following text:

Problems with your data? Contact us: data1992@protonmail.com
key: [redacted id]
