Microsoft Resolves Two Critical Bugs Blocking Windows 10 May 2019 Update

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 cumulative update KB4497935 a few hours ago for devices running the May 2019 Update, also known as version 1903.
 
The changelog includes two key fixes aimed at bugs that previously blocked Windows 10 version 1903 from being installed on a number of computers, including an issue affecting external USB devices and SD memory card readers.
 
Previously, Microsoft set an upgrade block on systems with external USB devices and SD card readers plugged in, explaining that installing Windows 10 May 2019 Update could fail.
Cumulative update KB4497935 comes to resolve this behavior, as per the official changelog.
 
“Addresses an issue that may cause an external USB device or SD memory card to be reassigned to an incorrect drive during installation. For more information, see "This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10" error on a computer that has a USB device or SD card attached,” Microsoft explains.
