First Core Ultra Series 3 laptop reviews are here. Contrary to what was shared earlier, the coverage is not limited to one chip, since Intel’s Panther Lake lineup spans multiple Core Ultra X9, X7, Ultra 7, and Ultra 5 SKUs. Panther Lake is Intel’s codename for Core Ultra Series 3 mobile processors. Intel positions it as a new client platform built on Intel 18A.
The basic idea behind Panther Lake is a hybrid CPU paired with a larger focus on integrated graphics and on-device AI. Intel’s top configurations are listed with up to 16 CPU cores split across performance, efficiency, and low power efficiency clusters. On graphics, higher-end parts use Xe3 iGPU configurations branded as Intel Arc B-series, with up to 12 Xe-cores listed on the Arc B390 tier.
Obviously for us, this is the most important upgrade, and something we will be looking into closely in the coming months. As we revealed, Intel is also preparing a special gaming handheld version known as the Core G3 series, powered by the same architecture.
