Quote:AMD launches more Navi 48 GPUs, just not for gamers (technically)

AMD has expanded its Radeon AI PRO R9000 lineup with two new RDNA 4 based workstation cards, the Radeon AI PRO R9700S and R9600D. They join the existing R9700 and bring the whole family to a uniform 32 GB of GDDR6 on a 256 bit bus with 64 MB of Infinity Cache and PCIe 5.0 x16 support.
Radeon AI PRO R9700S – the S is SilentRadeon AI PRO R9700S keeps the same Navi 48 configuration as the standard R9700. It offers 64 compute units and 4096 stream processors, with a game clock of 2350 MHz and boost clock up to 2920 MHz. Peak throughput reaches 47.8 TFLOPs for FP32. The board carries a 300 W power rating and draws power through a single 12V-2×6 connector.
The S suffix mainly marks a layout change. Instead of a blower cooler like most R9700 add in boards, the R9700S is built as a passive card. That design fits dense racks where system fans provide airflow and multiple GPUs sit close together. Otherwise the specs are identical.
Radeon AI PRO R9600D – D stands for “Did we forget the fan?”Radeon AI PRO R9600D scales Navi 48 down to 48 compute units and 3072 stream processors while keeping the same 32 GB GDDR6, 256 bit interface, 64 MB Infinity Cache, and 640 GB/s memory bandwidth. AMD lists boost clocks up to 2020 MHz and a 150 W board power target, with up to 24.8 TFLOPs FP32. The overall configuration lines up with reports of the Radeon RX 9700 GRE for the Chinese market, but Radeon AI PRO R9600D doubles the memory capacity to 32 GB.
