Unlike FSR3, the FSR4 technology does not require direct game developer support. The only official requirement is prior support for FSR3.1 or direct integration of the FSR4 SDK. In other words, games that already support FSR3.1 will now also support FSR4, but whether it works on an individual system depends on the user’s hardware and what’s equally important: drivers.

This week, AMD released two drivers. One is the official branch called Adrenalin 25.6.1, a WHQL release that most users should install. However, gamers who already own Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs can also check the latest FSR Technical Preview driver, which, according to AMD, is based on the same branch but expands FSR4 support to more games.

We compiled a list of all officially supported FSR4 games and included which driver is required for each title. There are now 65 games on the list, with 28 new games that require either the stable or preview driver.

Intel has crossed a new milestone in its upscaling technology implementation. Although nothing major has happened for discrete Arc GPUs, Intel has launched several integrated graphics products equipped with either Alchemist or Battlemage-derived architectures, now powering new laptops and gaming handhelds.

This, of course, means there is a group of gamers looking forward to Intel working with game developers who are interested in implementing XeSS upscaling into their games. The more options the better, but they still have FSR support if they need it.

Over at SteamDB, one will find an information that XeSS is now available in 201 games (not DLCs/demos). Intel does not have an official page where all games are listed, but such pages are available for AMD and NVIDIA. Alternatively, you may check PCGamingWiki, who are typically the fastest to list new games.

If we go by dates, it seems that in 2024, Intel has added XeSS support for 80 titles, compared to 47 in 2023. The previous years, of course, do not refer to when XeSS was added, but rather when the game was released and eventually received XeSS support. The same applies to 2023/2024.

Intel has crossed a new milestone in its upscaling technology implementation. Although nothing major has happened for discrete Arc GPUs, Intel has launched several integrated graphics products equipped with either Alchemist or Battlemage-derived architectures, now powering new laptops and gaming handhelds.

This, of course, means there is a group of gamers looking forward to Intel working with game developers who are interested in implementing XeSS upscaling into their games. The more options the better, but they still have FSR support if they need it.

Over at SteamDB, one will find an information that XeSS is now available in 201 games (not DLCs/demos). Intel does not have an official page where all games are listed, but such pages are available for AMD and NVIDIA. Alternatively, you may check PCGamingWiki, who are typically the fastest to list new games.

If we go by dates, it seems that in 2024, Intel has added XeSS support for 80 titles, compared to 47 in 2023. The previous years, of course, do not refer to when XeSS was added, but rather when the game was released and eventually received XeSS support. The same applies to 2023/2024.

Intel has released a new update for APO, its special software that can take advantage of Dynamic Tuning Technology (DTT). This feature was primarily an exclusive technology for the 14th Gen Core series but was later enabled for the 13th and 12th Gen Core series.

Before we dive into the new game list update, it’s important to note that the software has also been updated for the new Core Ultra 200K series. Specifically, the Ultra 9 285K, 265KF, and 265K are fully supported, while the Core Ultra 5 245K(F), which has fewer P-Cores, is limited in “Advanced Mode.” This basically means you may not be able to enable APO for all unsupported games, which is possible with full support.

As for the games, Intel is officially adding some E-sports titles like Fortnite, DOTA 2, and CS2. Along with the already supported Rainbow Six Siege, this means Intel is finally pushing APO for more competitive titles. There’s also support for Cyberpunk 2077, Naraka Bladepoint, and three games from the Total War series.

It’s worth noting that Intel used APO for its internal testing when presenting the Core Ultra 200K series, so the performance shown on the official slides is with APO enabled.

As a reminder, APO is supported by Core Ultra 200, 14th Gen Core (desktop and HX variants) in i7 and i9 tiers, 13th Gen and 12th Gen Core Series. But as mentioned, CPUs with 6 P-Cores have limited Advanced Mode support. Check Intel site for details.

If you take a look at Steam's hardware survey, you can see that only a small fraction of gamers are still using the old operating systems. 0.68% of Steam users are running it on a Windows 7 64-bit PC, while

Windows 7 has a share of 0.06%. Windows 8.1 64-bit has a user base of 0.15%. The majority of PC gamers, are using Windows 10 64 bit, it has a share of 53.45%. Windows 11 64 bit is catching up with an impressive 41.95% share.

 

Well, if you are among those who were using Windows 7 or 8 you have a few obvious options, you can upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11. You may not be able to do so for free, in which you will need to purchase a license from Microsoft.
