I'm trying to mod my Fujitsu Esprimo Mobile v6515 as much as I can.
The original CPU is an Intel T5800 that has a FSB of 800 MHz. I successfully mounted P8600 and T9800 that have 1066 FSB.
All these CPUs are dual core
At the moment I have mounted T9800 and the laptop is very stable.
I also purchased QX9300 that is the top among the Penryn CPUs. It's a quad core and has a TDP of 45 watt.
T5800 and T9800 have a 35 watt TDP, while P8600 25 watt
Do you think my laptop works with a CPU that has a TDP of 45 watt?

You are right, and this is what I'd like to do.
Also, I know it's uneconomic. I'm sure that with the money spent to upgrade my laptop and with a little extra I would buy a much better new one.
I consider all this as a hobby.
QX9300 has an unlocked multiplier, and I hope to increase frequency and to low TDP with a custom vcore.
However, I never overclocked a CPU and I'm looking for a friend of mine who is an expert overclocker.
Do you think I can do the overclock by myself? I googled and this seems difficult

I mounted QX9300 and my laptop doesn't start. I had to reinstall T9800

I was pretty sure my laptop would have supported QX9300, since it has a Penryn core and my bios reports this:
(Phoenix bios editor)

Reading other user experiences the problem should be the TDP.
According
Wikipedia Socket P supports QX9300
Maybe I need a bios hack

That can surely compromise the security and stability of the system...
