Another AM5 Ryzen 7000 non-X CPUAMD is working on additional SKUs for AM5 socket.

The initial launch of AMD Ryzen 7000 series has only included four X-Series SKUs, all considered high-end parts for gaming. However, the full cost of AMD AM5 X670 and B650 platforms has been one of the reasons why gamers are choosing Intel hardware instead.

AMD is soon to offer a new Ryzen 7000 CPUs which are going to cost less and should be paired with cheaper hardware, especially since they are not 105W or 170W TDP by default. The upcoming Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 5 7600 are to feature lower clocks and TDP at 65W.

Both SKUs have now been discovered over at SiSoftware website, and both have been tested with the same system labeled as SAPPHIRE 7D771. Since Sapphire is not making any prebuilt gaming PCs, this is possibly some sort of small form factor/embedded systems which the company offers.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600 is a 6-core and 12-thread SKUs with the base clock at 3.8 GHz, so shy of 900 MHz compared to the 7600X SKU. This downgraded version has the same L2/L3 cache configuration, with a total of 38 MB.

The 8-core Ryzen 7 7700 already appeared in a leak, and it looks to have the same clock speed as before, 3.8 GHz base. In this case, that’s 700 MHz lower frequency than the X-SKU, with an advantage of 40W lower TDP.

AMD currently has a large lineup of AM4 processors that will often make a better choice over 7000 non-X parts, especially when the price is considered. However,
for those looking for a future-proof solution with DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5 support, these new parts would be a viable alternative.

AMD is yet to confirm when such parts are coming, however, given the aggressive competition from Intel from Alder and Raptor Lake SKUs, these parts are now needed more than ever.
