Backup4all Overview
Backup4all is an award-winning data backup software for Windows from Romania based Softland. It is designed to protect the user's valuable data from partial or total loss by automating backup tasks, password protecting and compressing it to save storage space. Backup4all is feature rich and offers an intuitive and easy-to-use interface making all features easily accessible even for beginners.
With Backup4all user can easily backup to multiple destinations:

In Backup4all users can manually select which files and folders to be backed up. There is also the option to use backup plugins which will automatically pick the necesarily files for backup. There are currently over 100 free backup plugins that all users can load in Backup4all and specifically backup apps and data sets.
Among the Backup4all has predefined plugins available in application are:
- My Documents, My Pictures
- Google Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer Favorites, Mozilla FireFox Profiles,

- and more!
Users can also create their own plugins using the "Plugin Creator" application.
Backup4all plugins can be seen HERE
Backup4all has ZIP64 support (can create backups over 2 GB) and creates standard zip files, meaning that user can access it with any zip compatible utility. Backup4all also allows user to encrypt the user's backup using AES encryption (128/192/256-bit). File version backups are kept so the user can easily restore any version of files or a whole folder. User can also filter the files to be restored by different criteria such as: type of the file, date, size or attributes.
Backup4all tests the backup files automatically to ensure the backup is safe and correctly executed (uses CRC32). User can also enable email notifications to receive an email in case of success/error/ warning. Backup4all works with any drive letter, including mapped network drives and UNC paths.
Backup4all runs on Windows Server 2019/Server 2016/10/Server 2012/8.1/8/Server 2008/7/Server 2003/XP and offers multi language support.
Note: One or more of the features mentioned in this chapter might not be available in the user's edition. The Professional edition includes all the features.
For a comparison between editions, please see comparison matrix below.
Overview of Backup4all backup types:
Backup4all implements the fundamental backup types: (1) Smart, (2) Full, (3) Differential, (4) Incremental, and (5)Mirror. With the exception of the Mirror type, the first time any job is executed, it will run as a Full Backup, irrespective of the job's type. Below you can find an overview of all backup types.
Smart Backup
Smart backup is the default backup type. When executed, Backup4all will decide which backup type should be performed: full, differential or incremental. It will also decide whether to merge or delete older backup versions, all in order to efficiently use the destination free space and accommodate other user options. It will try to keep as many backup versions as possible in the available destination space. The advantage of the Smart Backup is that you don't need to worry about the number of backups to store, which backup version to clean, and which backups to merge, as Backup4all will take care of that. The Smart Backup type starts with a Full Backup.
How to create a smart backup HERE
Full Backup
The Full Backup creates an archive out of all the folders and files that were selected to be backed up. Because the Full Backup stores all files and folders, backing up frequently will allow faster and simpler restore operations. When user chooses other backup types, restore jobs may take longer. Full backups, if user have the time to perform them, offer the best solution for data protection. In effect, a single backup is sufficient to completely restore all backed-up files.
How to create a full backup HERE
Differential Backup
A Differential Backup contains all the files that have been added or changed since the last Full Backup. The advantage of the Differential Backup is that it has a shorter backup time. However, if user performs the differential backup too many times, eventually the size of a backup archive might grow to be larger than the reference Full Backup archive.
More Info on Differential Backup HERE
Incremental Backup
An Incremental Backup stores all the files that have been added or changed since the last full, differential or incremental backup. Since this method doesn't back up the same exact files multiple times, an Incremental Backup takes the least time to complete. However, during a restore operation, each Incremental Backup must be processed, which could result in a lengthy restore job.
More Info on Incremental Backup HERE
Mirror Backup
A Mirror Backup is identical to a Full Backup, with the exception that the files are not compressed into a single zip file. A Mirror Backup is most frequently used to create an exact copy of the backup data. It has the benefit that the backup files can be readily accessed using tools like File Explorer. Using the Mirror Backup type, user can also choose to archive each individual file, preserving the folder structure, which also allows to use the zip compression and encryption features. Using the mirror backup type, user can also choose to zip each file individually, preserving the folder structure. This allows the user to use the zip compression and encryption features.
More Info on Mirror Backup
Block backup
User can use block backup option to copy only the modified parts of the source files. This is useful for large files (such as .PST or database files), as only the modified part of the file will be backed up instead of the entire file. Users can use an automatic block size or you can set the block size manually.
Note: The block backup option must be enabled from the first backup execution; otherwise user won't be able to use it on that backup job. If user already have a backup job and want to use block backup, he has to create a new backup job.
What is block level backup
Backup4all stores a summary snapshot of the file information into a backup catalog file (".bkc")each time a backup is executed. For every file backed up, the snapshot contains the file name, size and attributes as well as the date and time of creation, latest modification and latest access. Legacy backup applications inspect each file's archive flag to identify which files have been changed. Backup4all will not interfere with any other backup software, because it does not need to read or change the archive flags, instead it uses the catalog file to decide which files have to be backed up and which do not.
Backup4all is a feature-rich backup software that automatically protects the user's valuable data from total or partial loss. Its intuitive interface makes it easy to use for beginners, but also includes advanced features for power users. Download a trial version now and use it for free for up to 30 days. Backup4all is compatible with the following operating systems: Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP SP3, Server 2019/2016/2012/2008/2003 (32/64-bits)

novaPD Overview
novaPDF is a powerful PDF creator / PDF printer for Windows that allows the user to easily create 100% industry-standard PDF files (searchable and optionally PDF/A compliant). It's never been easier to print to PDF, the user simply open a document, click on Print and select novaPDF as the printer to generate the PDF.
novaPDF allows to create PDF documents and easily share them, making the process of collaboration more efficient. With just a few clicks user can have company’s reports, contracts, workflows, agreements, marketing plans, spreadsheets, forms, products list, price list, charts, emails or other printable documents converted in PDF format. Its purpose is to enable users to exchange electronic documents easier, independently of the application in which they were initially created. The result PDF files can be viewed on any computer with a PDF viewer (reader) installed.
With novaPDF you can set/define different public or private profiles, each with its own printing to PDF settings. This feature is very useful if there are different users using the same computer (and each has different printing preferences) or if only user (singular) but need different settings for printing documents. This PDF creator can generate PDF files with embedded fonts. This means that your PDF files can be read and printed on any system without distributing your font separately, while maintaining the original intended design. Furthermore, novaPDF can embed only the characters used in that document, so that the size of the resulting PDF will be smaller.
novaPDF supports PDF Linearization (fast web view) which allows the creation of PDF files that can be easily viewed via the web browser. Instead of downloading the entire PDF file at once, the PDF will be "streamed" in the browser page-by-page.
Users can personalize your documents by setting the document information (title, subject, author, keywords). This feature is useful also if you want to publish your PDF files on the Web, as search engines will index your PDF files and use the document information to display it in the results. Furthermore, novaPDF can create PDF/A compliant PDF files, thus is ideal for long-term archiving of documents.
This PDF printer driver has a lot of features that allows to: modify the paper size (or create new custom page sizes for large format printing), modify the resolution (from 72 to 2400 dpi), change page orientation (portrait, landscape), embed fonts (support for OpenType, TrueType and Type1 fonts), merge PDF files and lots more. The user interface supports localization and novaPDF is available in several different languages.
novaPDF Professional can be used as a shared network PDF printer, via Remote Desktop Connection, Terminal Servers or Citrix (if) a license is owned for each connecting computer that prints to it directly. It can be installed on one computer in a network environment (printer server) and used by any computer within that network without having to install it on each computer. Simply share novaPDF on the printer server and connect to it from the other computers. Users can also define public profiles (created on the server computer) and there are automatically propagated to all client computers.
novaPDF can be used for up to 30 days for free. During the trial, the user shall have all the functionality of the installed edition, but each page of the resulting PDF will show a footer notice. After 30 days, the program will no longer work, unless you purchase a license and activate it. The licensed version doesn't expire and doesn't add any footer notices. novaPDF is compatible with 32/64-bit editions of these operating systems: Windows 10, 8/8.1, Windows 7/Vista/XP SP3 and Windows Server 2016/2012/2008/2003. Requires the .NET framework (version 4.6 or higher) installed.
Benefits of using novaPDF:
- Save Time - Speedy one-click installation and fast PDF creation
- Save Money - Switching to PDF instead of regular paper significantly reduces the cost.
- Stay Safe - Password-protect PDF files using military-grade 256-bit AES encryption.
- Improve Collaboration - Sharing PDF documents is faster & easier than sending faxes.
novaPDF allows the creation of PDF files in several ways: (1) via the novaPDF "Start page", (2) via add-ins for Microsoft Office or, (3) via printing directly to the novaPDF driver.
VIA novaPDF "Start Page"
The "Start Page" can be accessed from the program's start group. In Windows 10/8 type novaPDF on the Start page and click on novaPDF from Apps to open it. The novaPDF "Start Page" allows the user to quickly convert a document to PDF by selecting the document and clicking on "Create" using the default settings of novaPDF to create the PDF file. User can modify the default settings anytime before creating the PDF. Or user can create the PDF by printing it directly to the novaPDF printer driver.
The "Create one document tab" is selected by default when the user first opens the application. Using the options here he can convert a single document to PDF at a time. Optionally the user can click on the "Profile Manager" or "Preferences" buttons to change the default conversion settings for the currently selected printer. "Profile Manager" allows to define new PDF conversion profiles (i.e. adding watermarks, bookmarks, signatures) while the "Preferences" window will allow the user to do basic setting changes such as modifying the page size, graphic resolution or choosing a default profile for printing.
The user can also batch/bulk convert Office documents to PDF or merge multiple documents from different sources in a single one. This is done by clicking on the "Create/merge multiple documents" tab then add the files you want converted. Once all the files are added, user only needs to click on "Create PDF" to generate the PDF file (novaPDF gives also the option to either create an individual PDF for each document, or a single one where all documents are merged).
VIA Microsoft Office add-ins
During installation novaPDF gives the option to install add-ins for Microsoft Office applications (recommended). Such is selected by default and it will automatically add in the supported Microsoft Office applications (for now is available in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Visio) and another tab called novaPDF that will let users create PDF files directly from the Office interface by simply clicking a button.
VIA novaPDF Driver
The previous two options mentioned for creating PDF files rely on the novaPDF printer driver, as this is the program that actually does the conversion. novaPDF is installed as a virtual printer, so it will be shown as an actual printer in the Printers list. This means that the user can create PDF files from any application that allows printing if you "print" that document to the novaPDF printer driver. This is done in the same way anybody would print to a regular printer, meaning user has to open the document, go to File->Print, select novaPDF as the printer and then click on Print.
Note: novaPDF can convert only visible links in the PDF document (i.e. www.novapdf.com will be converted, but not novapdf.com -- hidden hyperlinks), unlike the novaPDF add-ins for Microsoft Office (which can convert hidden hyperlinks too).
Latest version build is novaPDF Professional version 10.9.130 (06-October-2020)
