O&O Defrag 23 now for the first time ever with SSD optimization "SOLID/COMPLETE"

SSDs have many advantages: they’re quick, small, and can save enormous volumes of data. And they supposedly can’t be defragmented. But that’s not true because as is the case with any system that wants to save files quickly, files will sooner or later wind up scattered across the entire storage area. Up until now, the methods available for restoring an SSDs original speed have been pretty basic. O&O Defrag 23 introduces the SOLID/COMPLETE method, developed by O&O Software, which achieves an increase in performance that’s never before been possible.

This is where O&O Defrag 23 goes to work with its new SOLID/COMPLETE method: scattered file fragments will be reconnected and saved in fewer memory cells. This leads to fewer read and write accesses to these memory cells. The result is the SSD running faster and its life expectancy increased on account of reduced read and write accesses. Along with the new SOLID/COMPLETE, the existing SOLID/QUICK method has been extended: it is now faster than COMPLETE and suitable for an occasional faster defragmentation.


NEW AND ENHANCED FEATURES:
 

• The new defragmentation method SOLID/COMPLETE: SSDs save file fragments on more memory cells than needed. The resource and hardware friendly SOLID/COMPLETE method defragments these file fragments so that only the number of memory cells required will be used for reading and writing in the future. SOLID/COMPLETE can be used on both SSDs as well as hard disks.
  
  
  
• SOLID/QUICK: this method designed especially for SSDs can provide them with a surface optimization. This method is faster than COMPLETE.
  
  
  
• O&O Defrag: The STEALTH and SPACE defragmentation methods have been further optimized for the fastest possible defragmentation, while the COMPLETE methods allow for a more complete defragmentation. This of course, requires more time and memory. The optimal utilization of existing storage space also prevents any new fragmentation. All methods can be applied to any drive, including Volume and Stripe Sets, and of course guarantee maximum reliability.
  
  
  
• Block view of SSDs: to visualize the difference between saving data on an SSD and a hard disk, the block view illustrates the logical construction of an SSD.
  
  
  
• Statistics: O&O Defrag provides information about the number of files and folders that were defragmented as well as the number of Bytes that were moved in the process (so-called Terabytes Written-TBW). The entire O&O DiskImage substructure has been completely rebuilt to enable us to add new functions and enhancements quicker and much more regular. DiskImage To Go

Previously, in addition to regularly backing up your machine, you also had to separately create an O&O DiskImage boot media to restore that backup. Everything is easier now! The DiskImage To Go function automatically turns an external hard drive that you select to store an image on (or USB flash drive with enough storage space) into an O&O DiskImage boot medium, and marks this disk as the preferred storage medium for future system backups. As soon as you connect this external USB hard disk to your computer, O&O DiskImage 15 automatically creates an image of all internal drives and the data partition onto it.

This makes it easy to create a recent backup. And, if something really happens to your computer or you want to transfer your system and all your data to a new computer, then with the O&O DiskImage boot medium you can restore the image stored on it with just one touch of a button, without the hassle of searching for the boot medium and the external hard drive with the backup. It has never been so easy to ensure the security of your data!
 

Support for VHDX Format

O&O DiskImage 15 brings full support for the VHDX (Virtual Hard Disk) Format. The main advantage of VHDX is its increased storage capacity of 64 TB (terabytes), instead of VHD’s standard storage limit of 2 TB. Another advantage of VHDX is the file corruption protection.
